标题#1917LIVE: What if Twitter existed 100 years ago?
BriefThe narrator sets the scene: "On this way from army headquarters, Russian Emperor Nicholas II is forced to stand down from the throne." We see him signing the abdication papers and handing them over to representatives of the Duma. We're then somewhat surprised when he sits down to tweet the news. #1917LIVE was a project that aimed to tell the story of the Russian Revolution through real-time tweets. Step into the digital time machine that is #1917LIVE and see what the Russian revolution would have been like if Twitter existed. RT created over 70 separate accounts named after key historical characters - think Lenin, Stalin and Tsar Nicholas - to educate and inspire everyone to learn. What would Stalin say if he only had 140 characters? What if we could interact with these personalities in real time? #1917LIVE opens our minds to these questions and creates a new teaching format for an ultra-connected generation of students.

剧情简介 #1917LIVE project takes you 100 years back to relive the Russian Revolution in real time. Dozens of historical accounts from Tsar Nicholas II to Vladimir Lenin are live-tweeting the events day-by-day as if Twitter existed a century ago.
问题 Have you ever dreamed of time travel? We tried to make it possible with our Twitter digital time machine.
#1917LIVE is the project which aims to tell the story of the Russian Revolution through real-time tweeting from a network of linked accounts. #1917LIVE hashtag brings together up to 90 accounts in the name of all key historical characters of that time and unites them into its own Twitter universe.
One of project’s key objectives is to educate and inspire the audience to learn. With #1917LIVE we also aim to introduce a new format which can be effectively adapted by schools and universities in history education courses globally. We asked ourselves what would be the best new way to teach history in the social media era? How can we engage an audience used to snaps, tweets, developing situations and breaking news?
That’s how we attempted to create the first-ever monumental social media role-play involving dozens of characters - their lines are short 140-digit messages and the stage is Twitter.
