| Brief | For most people cooking fish can be scary. It’s ugly, it stinks, it squirts, it’s a real mess. Out of control. But let’s chill, it never killed anyone and you might even end up enjoying it. And most of all, it’s worth it because it is deadly delicious.This commercial doesn’t seem to have a lot of humor because it pretty much looks like a classic thriller. Until… the surprising reveal. It borrows all the codes of the genre (but make it funnier) to amplify a very common situation and create a perfect advertising hyperbole.With the direction of Björn Rühmann, well-known for his comic ads, this movie uses dark humor to serve one purpose: stop dramatizing cooking fish and kick out all the clichés. Yes, it’s not the most appealing thing to do but just try it and you’ll be addicted. |
