Haydn Walker

Haydn left Blue Mountains Grammar School when he was 15 years old to attend the Australian Institute of Music in Sydney studying jazz guitar under Carl Orr and film composition with Christopher Gordon.
In 2002 he completed his Bachelor in Composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying under Michael Smetanin and Bozidar Kos and graduating with First Class Honours. During this time he represented Australia in the prestigious Paris Rostrum of Composers in the Under 30s Category.
In 2008 he was nominated for an IF Award in the Best Music for a Feature Film category for "Men's Group", which ended up taking out numerous awards that night including Best Film and Best Screenplay.
He has won two APRA Australian Guild of Screen Composers awards in recent years, for Best Television Theme (Scariacs in 2011) and Best Music for an Advertisement (Nutrillon ‘Hope’ in 2012).
Haydn has co-written songs, arranged and/or performed music for various prominent Australian acts including Grinspoon, The Potbelleez, Darren Hayes, Inga Liljestrom, Archie Roach and Katie Noonan.
He has recently collaborated on the feature film score for Nerve, which premiered as part of the official selection at the 2013 Sydney Film Festival.
