标题 | The Story of Harry & Ahmed |
Brief | On January 27 2017, President Trump issued an executive order banning refugees of seven different Muslim countries from entering the United States. In response, UNICEF released a film to rally global support showing that one of mankind's greatest mistakes was being made again. Depicting the shocking parallels between Syrian child refugees today and the child refugees of World War II, Harry and Ahmed's words come together to build a single, seamless narrative. This ad draws parallels between the stories of Harry and Ahmed, two child refugees with similar stories from two very different moments in time. Harry, an older gentleman, talks about fleeing to the US during WWII, while Ahmed shares his journey from Syria in the present day. As their stories overlap, they both say in unison, “I thought I was going to die. I am alive. I am one of the lucky ones.” |
