概要
I was lured to Team One for the first time in 2000, and stayed until leaving to become Mitsubishi’s VP of Advertising in 2004. I returned to Team One in 2005, and stayed until becoming president of Saatchi & Saatchi LA in 2008. The Team One gravitational field proved irresistible once more in 2009, and I have been leading Team One since then. While others have left their wallets in El Segundo, I seem to have left my career there.*
I am a Detroit native and have over 20 years of automotive marketing experience, so if you said I have motor oil running through my veins, you’d be right. For the record, that’s not why my skin looks so remarkably healthy. Sunblock and monthly facials are the secret there.
Without belaboring my successes, I’m proud of the contributions I’ve made toward making Lexus the automotive industry’s greatest success story. I’m also very excited about the moves we’re making to lead marketing in a digital world, while making Team One’s work and culture the envy of the ad industry.
My philosophy has always been “inspire the team, focus them, and let them go.” Occasionally some team members misunderstand what I mean by “let go” and immediately start to clean out their cubicles in stunned, dejected silence. I always try to correct this misunderstanding as quickly as I can.
For the record, I’d like to state that the photo above makes me appear far too approachable.
*This is a reference to A Tribe Called Quest’s classic “I Left My Wallet in El Segundo.” I’m more of an Eminem guy, being from Detroit, but the Tribe’s got the vibe, yo.
