Gregg Bailey

Bailey started out as an art director at TBWA Hunt Lascaris but soon uncovered his deeper interest in film making. He enrolled at the New York Film Academy and in 2004 returned to South Africa to team up with internationally renowned director, Greg Gray, as his creative assistant; although, he believes the term ‘Whipping Boy’ to be more accurate.
While contributing to the making of multiple award-winning pieces during his mentorship, Bailey fine tuned his craft and swiftly set himself apart with his own sense of quirk and style.
“To everyone out there looking for an amazingly talented and passionate young director, I highly recommend Bailey: he has been trained by Greg Gray and it shows. He approaches the work with the same conceptual integrity and is as thorough as Greg Gray; spending weeks finding locations and not stopping right till the bitter end to make the job a success. What a pleasure it was to work with him.” – Donovan Bryan, ECD of Owen Kessel on the business day campaign.

Greg Gray

Greg Gray is one of the most accomplished directors in the ad industry. His intuitive understanding of the role of television in brand building and communication is a skill that attracts storyboards from around the world.
Greg’s talent for remarkable narrative storytelling and ability to obtain authentic credible performances from actors is evident in the majority of his work. This is demonstrated in his beautifully crafted piece for Oude Meester with actor Jamie Fox and most recently his emotive film for Bell’s whiskey, which is classic Greg at his very best.
Greg has a reputation and skill for absolute attention to detail in his filmmaking and it is this intense crafting that sets his work apart. His diverse body of work includes his recent upbeat ads for Coca-Cola; the authentic, emotionally engaging human tales brought to life in Amstel chef and boxer; as well as his clever interpretation of wit and humour evident in his body of work for Savanna cider, which spans over a decade.
Greg’s work has consistently won awards from all the major ad shows, including Cannes, Clios, D&AD, Loeries and the One Show show. His iconic ad for for Virgin Atlantic was voted number one international commercial worldwide by Campaign magazine, as well being included in the Shots 100th issue as one of the best ever commercials of all time. Greg’s work has also featured in the Gunn report, including a placement in the top 50 commercials worldwide.
In addition to this, Greg has been listed in the bestadsontv top 20 directors worldwide and, in 2008, he was commemorated as director of the year by Adreview.
At the heart of Greg’s passion for making great films is his unwavering belief in the idea always being the hero and recognising the importance of this and enjoying the reward of seeing it successfully brought to life.

Adrian de sa Garces

Adrian has an innate sense of what is contemporary with the ability to exhibit authenticity and emotion in his work. His background in photography and motion graphics also gives him an edge that sets his directing style apart.

His work is favoured by creative directors as he brings a youthfulness to his reel that is in constant demand – he has worked with various brands such as Liberty, Cell C, McDonald’s, FNB, Chicken Licken and BMW.

Adrian goes to extraordinary lengths, pushing himself and those on set to create work that not only stands out but which delivers a strong message. His recent spots for Liberty are a great example; using special techniques to tell two different stories in a unique way – one of which required flying in a two tonnes rig from Los Angeles.

His work has scooped multiple awards and has been featured on bestadsontv, adsoftheworld and shots.

Anton Visser

Anton’s move from creative director to behind the camera in 2004 didn’t go unnoticed. In his debut year he picked up a Cannes shortlist and second place in the Cfp-shots Young Director Awards.
He has followed this by consistently winning awards, adding to his collection of metal from Cannes, D&AD and Clios. Anton also sat on the judging panel at the inaugural Young Guns in Sydney in 2001.
His background as a writer gives him extraordinary insights into scripts and he is known for his ability to push ideas and concepts. More specifically he has a unique way with comedy and performance. Often getting memorable moments out of non-actors and everyday people.
His spots for First for Women, Stimorol, wimpy and Warbartons have gained a huge following and have been featured on adsoftheworld, bestadsontv and Shots. His most recent ad for yellow pages ‘Golden Plunger’ has gained an equal amount of attention and was listed as a shots contender, further establishing his formidable reputation as director and creative collaborator.
