The cutlery drawers are a mess, there’s a rotary phone and the bed has no duvet. That’s what a group of six young Spanish people find when they’re invited to live in a “1990s home” for a reality TV show created by IKEA and McCann. Via YouTube or in store, the public could watch the millennials as they improved their lives in the house by ordering products from IKEA – thus demonstrating the positive impact the brand has had on Spanish homes since its arrival in the country 25 years ago. (Most of us had push-button phones and duvets in the 1990s, but maybe the millennials don’t believe us.)
