A New Literary Movement

Fancy a touch of Moby Dick while you’re in the loo? That was the service offered by audio book brand Storytel and its agency Geometry Singapore. Driven by the insight that many people now tend to take their phones rather than a book with them to the loo, Storytel created a new literary environment in the form of portable toilets. Initially installed at a rock festival, the mobile loos were covered in literary-inspired designs. When users stepped inside, an audio book began to play, thus immersing them in a story while they answered the call of nature. The users seemed to enjoy the experience, so perhaps books will regain their rightful place as the monarchs of the throne room.
