The New Yorker taps Olson to talk social media and recipes

Recipe videos are my life. Not only do I watch them obsessively, I also attempt to cook them (this one is foolproof and delicious). So it's not a surprise to me that recipe videos are overtaking newsfeeds these days -- especially from Buzzfeed's Tasty brand. These types of videos have become so popular that other outlets have adapted the style for themselves. Even Taco Bell has gotten in on it. Their recent Instagram ads flipped the idea on its head: Chalupas are too hard to make yourself, so don't even try it, you overachieving DIY'ers.

Hot on the heels of this trend, The New Yorker recently tapped Olson to talk about why these recipe videos are devouring newsfeeds. Olson's Katie Miller and I were interviewed as content experts to explain what makes them so appetizing.
